Mr. Trudgian practices Of Counsel at Tait & Hall PLLC where he focuses his law practice on Real Estate and Civil matters. Mr. Trudgian originally hails from the Seattle area, where he graduated from the University of Washington prior to obtaining his Juris Doctor from the University of Arizona. He has been licensed to practice law in Arizona since 2000 and has considerable appellate and trial experience. Prior to his entry to private practice, he spent over a decade of his legal career in the service of the State of Arizona as a Deputy Maricopa County Attorney for the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.
As a Deputy County Attorney, Mr. Trudgian’s first assignments were as a trial attorney where he focused on criminal litigation. He had an aggressive attention to detail and soon found himself as a major crimes attorney where he resolved an incredible number of high level felony cases and received a prestigious Victim’s Rights Award. His attentiveness and ability to resolve cases did not go unnoticed by his superiors and soon Mr. Trudgian was transferred into the Executive Division to work on special projects for the elected official and for upper level management of the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office. After just a short time in the Executive Division, Mr. Trudgian was promoted into management and he was entrusted with some of the most important projects for the County Attorney and his top aides. He successfully drafted comments on proposed Criminal Rule Amendments for the Judicial and Legislative Review Committees, diligently composed and implemented official policies and procedures that impacted thousands of cases, and handled many high-level research and writing projects for the office.
Mr. Trudgian’s attention to detail, exemplary legal writing and reasoning abilities and the tremendous success as an Executive Division manager saw him quickly promoted to be the Bureau Chief of the entire Appeals Division. In the Appeals Division he was appointed to oversee all higher-court criminal litigation for Maricopa County which comprises approximately 60% of the population for Arizona. Mr. Trudgian’s efficient attention to detail and his eye for justice helped focus scarce resources on cases of community importance where he worked to promote fairness and justice. Mr. Trudgian worked tirelessly on appeals and complex Constitutional litigation to reverse ill-reasoned trial court decisions and also advocate for victims and for the betterment of our community.
After 14 years in the public sector, Mr. Trudgian entered private practice to focus on real estate and civil matters. He had been actively involved in real estate for many years, and as a longtime real estate investor he witnessed the detrimental community impact from a volatile Arizona real estate market over the past several years. As with his work on behalf of crime victims, Mr. Trudgian saw a tremendous opportunity to help individuals and shifted his law practice to focus on real estate transactions and civil matters. Mr. Trudgian carries an active Arizona Real Estate License and works diligently to make a difference in the front lines of that industry. He lives in Gilbert with his wife and daughter, and when he is not helping people with real estate matters he spends much of his free time involved with family and volunteer activities in the community. Mr. Trudgian also owns and operates a sober living house in Gilbert, and much of the time that he volunteers in the community he works with victims of addiction and individuals who are in the recovery process from substance abuse issues.
