Alexis Brooks practices as a Senior Trial Attorney and Litigation Associate, with a primary focus in Criminal Defense and Post-Conviction Relief and Appeals. She brings extensive criminal law and litigation experience to Tait and Hall to align her passion for criminal defense and for protecting the Constitutional rights of others.
Alexis dedicates her work to pursue high-level results, and she is driven by empathy to connect on a personal level to fight for her clients. She focused to excel in law school where she ranked in the top 10 of her law school class and graduated magna cum laude.
While in school she immersed herself in criminal law and successfully completed internships for both the prosecution and defense. In doing so, she gained experience on both sides of criminal law and became a well-rounded criminal litigator.
After graduation, Alexis was admitted to the Arizona State Bar and proudly accepted a position as a trial attorney for the Maricopa County Public Defender’s Office. Over the next three years of Government service, she litigated hundreds of felony offenses, ranging from low-level drug offenses to high-level serious offenses such as homicide and sex crimes. She then entered the private sector and joined a well-respected criminal defense firm in Phoenix and continued to practice criminal defense and litigation.
Alexis continues to expand her knowledge of criminal justice by focusing her practice on criminal defense and litigation practices on the most serious offenses including homicide, dangerous offenses, sex crimes, domestic violence offenses, drug sales and possession, juvenile crimes and juveniles charged as adults.
Alexis’s connection to people facing serious struggles and challenges manifests in her drive to achieve results. She has spent countless weeks in court working daily on complex criminal cases and has always handled her clients with incredible compassion. Alexis is an attorney who genuinely cares for the success of the people she represents.
